If our client collects Social Security, then they will automatically be enrolled in Original Medicare Parts A and B when they turn 65.
NOT COLLECTING SOCIAL SECURITY?
If our clients are not collecting Social Security, when they turn 65 and they want MEDICARE they will have to actively sign up for Parts A and B by calling 1 800 772-1213 or visiting www.socialsecurity.gov or Social Security office
Part A costs $471/mo under Original Medicare, covers inpatient services. But patient is responsible for $1,484 Deductible for as many as 6 benefit periods. Unlike group insurance plans for ages 18-64 where you may have only one annual deductible, With Part A of Medicare you may pay as much as $9,000 out of pocket for inpatient hospitaliz

Part B costs $148.50 per month which is deducted from the monthly social security check. Some higher wage earners may pay $400 each month. and some Medicaid recipients may pay zero.
